Drobo is een eenvoudig te gebruiken desktop opslag systeem wat kan worden gebruikt op een Mac, PC of Linux systeem via Firewire &USB 2.0. Drobo biedt gebruikers de mogelijkheid om data op een veilige manier op te slaan. Drobo is een systeem met 4 Hard Disk plaatsen gebaseerd op 3,5 inch SATA 1 of 2 Hard Disks. Drobo maakt een grote "pool" met beschermde data. Drobo is eenvoudig uit te breiden door het simpelweg plaatsen van een of meerdere Hard Disks met grotere capaciteit. Hierdoor vervalt de noodzaak om meerdere Hard Disk systemen te onderhouden.
